I started my yoga journey in 1995 studying Vedanta School philosophy in Russia with a small group of people. Later I moved to the USA and continued practicing yoga while also studying karate. Surprisingly, I found similarities between the two disciplines, with both providing spiritual inspiration and awareness. As became more proficient, I began participating in yoga classes and workshops that practiced different traditions and schools of thought, including Ayurveda. Finding a calling in yoga, and inspired by my teachers, I decided to become a full-time yoga instructor and traveled to India to complete a 200-hour teacher training at the Sivananda Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram. Upon my return, I completed a 300-hour course with the Bindu School that has a tantric focus, and the Ayurvedic Counseling course with Ayurvedic Healing Institute also became a certified Mat Pilates instructor. For the last two years, I have been interested in Advaita philosophy and the teachings of Swami Vishnudevananda Giri.
Yoga develops flexibility, helps cope with stress, and aides in the recovery of injuries. Also yoga helpful in bringing peace and balance into my life and I believe, through yoga, we can find answers to any life’s deepest questions and understand our Dharma (Way) to find our true-selves.
